Breathe In, Paint Out: Nature on Paper

Paint and sip a cozy fall beverage with us! In this introductory, beginner-friendly class, students will learn essential gouache painting techniques and create their very own mini landscape painting from start to finish. Class instruction includes learning about different types of paint and pigments, understanding types of surfaces and brushes, how to take care of brushes, basics of color theory and color mixing, water/pigment ratios, brush techniques such as layering, blending, and texture, and the power of impressions.
Ages 13+

Nature Explorations in Watercolor & Ink

Learn to unlock your unique drawing ability through observational hand – eye connection, as you create nature ink drawings with freedom, joy, & whimsy. We will learn fundamental drawing elements, break free of frustration, & create meaningful & engaging pieces of art. This is a two part class.
Learn to unlock your unique drawing ability through observational hand-eye connection, as you create nature ink drawings with freedom, personality, and intentional observation. The exercises used will allow you to let go of what you think you see and capture the true essence of what you are actually drawing. In this class, we will embrace the beauty of imperfection, capture shape and detail with simplicity, let go of drawing frustrations, and transform a simple drawing into a whimsical and meaningful piece of art. We will learn fundamental drawing elements as we explore observation, pattern, color, and design found in nature.

Open Studio and Paint Your Own Pottery

Bring your Christmas projects and a potluck dish to share. An evening of creativity and fellowship (and productivity!). Paint your own pottery Christmas gift available (prices range from $12-$50).
Bring your project to work on and a potluck dish and enjoy some time of fellowship and creativity. Optional: Paint your own pottery - purchase at the event (Christmas ornaments available among other items).

A Clayful Christmas

In this two-part, beginner-friendly class, students will get to create and paint three Christmas ornaments with air-dry clay, which they get to take home and keep. Class instruction will include learning about different types of clay and essential hand-building techniques for working with all types of clay. Techniques include wedging, rolling, effects of water, slab-building, scoring and slipping, pinching, additive sculpting, carving, painting, and varnishing.
